This is my story - the jolt that I needed

Crash! Bang! Wallop!
Oh My God! What’s happening? I felt my body being pushed forwards and then backwards, several times, as the car behind rear-ended me. Over the next few days, I became aware of various aches and pains particularly in my neck and shoulders, and I was unable to work, which meant that I missed out on the promotion that was about to be offered. I thought to myself: My Life Is Ruined. And as I kept saying that to myself, so the ruin was manifested in my body and in my life. My body was literally screaming at me. I felt very alone and very sorry for myself.
Gradually my healing and transformation began. I started to change my thinking and to change my life. A big influence was reading Louise Hay’s ‘You Can Heal Your Life’, which helped me to realize that it was up to me how I felt and what I thought. I attended Relaxation classes, and initially found it really difficult to relax, but kept going along because I knew it was important. Then something clicked and I found the fun in it. I became interested in complementary medicine, having discovered for myself the benefits of a holistic approach. I studied Amatsu therapy just to find out more about what had helped me, but without any real thought that this could lead to a career change. I read numerous self-help books and attended many workshops, including the first I Can Do It Conference in Las Vegas. I meditated and did lots of affirmations, saying them out loud, singing them and writing them down, whilst (sometimes rather desperately) trying to listen to my inner wisdom. I made ‘thank you’ lists until showing appreciation became second nature. Even though I was fiercely independent I asked for help to start my own business. Mirror work proved to be very effective in kick-starting my new ventures. And so over the years my life turned around in many different ways. I became a Personal Development Workshop Leader, Amatsu and Cranio-Sacral Therapist and then also a Yoga Teacher. I made a commitment to myself to honour and value my life and to follow my heart. I kept saying My Life Gets Better All The Time – and so this became my reality. I also thought to myself: I Am Fitter, Stronger And More Flexible Than Ever Before In My Life – and so I am.
I now live in Switzerland in the house of my dreams with my loving and supportive life partner, surrounded by helpful friends and neighbours. I work internationally and help people to embrace their own vitality to create what they want in life. I feel truly blessed in all areas of my life. My car accident gave me the jolt that I needed and I recognize that it was the gift that has helped me find joy, success and fulfillment.
